Effective Vaccine
Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine is an intranasal equine influenza
vaccine that has been proven effective in actual
“challenge” studies. This means horses were vaccinated with
Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine and then exposed to highly infective
strains of influenza virus. The protection demonstrated by Flu Avert®
I.N. vaccine is unprecedented.
The altered virus in Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine does not cause
disease. Instead, it triggers the horse’s body to mount an impressive defense.
Also, because the vaccine is given intranasally, the first response occurs in the
nasal mucosa - the natural path of influenza infection. The vaccine literally stops
the disease at the site of entry.
Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine provides the highest level of influenza
protection. Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine is unique with its intranasal
mode of administration. Because it is administered right at the site of infection,
Flu Avert® I.N. provides immunity faster and protects for
a
longer period of time – up to six months.
Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine is best suited for horses with a high
risk of exposure to influenza, including older foals, yearlings, performance horses
and show horses in training and competition.
Flu Avert® I.N., the influenza protection that works as hard
as your clients’ horses. Flu Avert® I.N. vaccine is
a coldadapted, modified-live intranasal vaccine proven by challenge studies to be
safe and effective against relevant North American (KY91 and KY98) and Eurasian
(Sask/90)
strains of equine influenza 2, 3 . Flu Avert®
I.N. vaccine provides:
- Effective immunity with a single dose for up to
six months.
- Reduction of clinical disease caused by equine influenza.
- Protection from clinical signs, including fever
and virus shedding.
